The Tigers have done it again! With the MHL’s hottest goalie, Tristan Gray, perfect between the pipes, Campbellton recorded a 2-0 road win versus the Caps. Both Dominik Tmej in the Caps’ net and Gray had been frustrating all shooters until Francis Thibeault scored the unassisted game winner midway through the third period. On the play, aggressive forechecking by Coleton Perry and Kyle Petten led to the Caps giving up the puck in their own end. Thibeault picked it up on the right point and with no defender applying pressure, blasted a shot which blew past Tmej who was screened by Perry and Petten. The Tigers then tightened up defensively until Pascal Valcourt sealed the victory with an empty netter with only seconds left in the game. Thibeault was named the game’s third star, Tmej was second, and Gray was first game star.
The series will continue in Campbellton with game four on Saturday. A huge crowd is expected so be sure to get your tickets early. The Memorial Civic Center box office is open Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and from 9:00 am on Saturday.
