Tigers Split Overtime Pair

The Tigers dropped a tough one Friday night, falling short in OT to the Caps. Summerside overcame a pair of two goal deficits to force the game past regulation where they settled matters less than two minutes into the overtime. Scoring for the Tigers were Pascal Valcourt, Coleton Perry and Dawson Stairs. Assists went to Joel Walker, Pierre-Luc Lurette plus newcomers Matt Warner and Brendan Bornstein. Dawson Stairs was named the games’ third star. Tristan Gray stopped thirty-one shots in the Tigers’ net.

The Tigers went into extra time again Saturday, this time versus the Aces in St. Stephen. Unlike Friday night though, Campbellton picked up the second point when Dawson Stairs scored unassisted at the 1:26 mark of the first overtime period. Kyle Petten scored his first as a Tiger in the second period while Pierre-Luc Lurette scored late in the third to tie the game after the Aces had netted two of their own. Pascal Valcourt and Francis Thibeault assisted on both goals. Marc-Antoine Berube-Jalbert made twenty-one saves for the win in his first game as a Tiger. Stairs picked up the game’s first star honours.
