Tiger Defenseman Earns Gongshow Star Selection

Congratulations to the Tiger’s veteran defenceman, Pierre-Luc Lurette who earned second star in the Gongshow Three Stars of the Month for December. During the very busy period for the Tigers which included nine games in just twenty-two days, Lurette lead the team with six goals and ten assists with half of his goals coming on the powerplay.  On the league’s website, James Faulkner, the MHL’s Director of Communication wrote:

Lurette was held off the scoresheet just twice in the month and had five multi-point games. He kicked things off with two powerplay goals and an assist in a 5-2 win on December 1st over the St. Stephen Aces. The next night, Lurette posted one goal and one assist in a 7-3 loss to Edmundston and had the same stat line in a 6-4 win Miramichi on the 16th. He wasn’t done there, notching a combined seven points in the Tigers’ final two games before the Christmas Break. His powerplay goal and two assists led the way in a 5-2 win over St. Stephen on the 21st. Lurette was involved in every Tigers goal the next night, with one goal and three assists in a 5-4 loss to the Aces.

Lurette enters January in 10th place in league scoring with 34 points and is tied for 10th in assists with 21. For defensemen, Lurette leads the way in goals, points, and powerplay goals. He’s tied for the second among blueliners in assists (21) behind Summerside’s Noah Massie and is tied with Massie for the lead in powerplay assists (10). Lurette has also racked up just 26 penalty minutes in the process.
