In their first game of the season, the Tigers dropped a close 3-2 decision in Yarmouth Friday night. Speedy forward, Pascal Valcourt opened the scoring early in the first period. On the Tigers’ first shot on net, he rifled a bullet over the goalies’ blocker and into the top corner. For his fine set-up of Valcourt, Coleton Perry picked up the assist. The Mariners’ responded with a pair of their own and led 2-1 going into the first intermission. In the second period, Campbellton again came out flying and evened the contest with little over two minutes gone. This time it was Jared Janke who was set up perfectly by Tommy Callaghan on a two-on-one. Pierre-Luc Lurette earned an assist by starting the play in his own end. Tristan Gray, who played a very strong positional game, made thirty-one saves and was outstanding in Campbellton’s net. Janke was named as the 3rd star of the game. The Tigers now head to Bridgewater Saturday evening to take on the Lumberjacks.
