The MHL Eastlink North team is headed to the 2018 Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge and will include a trio of Tiger forwards. Included on its roster are power forward, Joel Walker plus Coleton Perry and Pascal Valcourt all of whom have contributed significantly to the offensive punch of the Tigers throughout the first third of the season. Walker has upped his offensive output significantly over last season with six goals and an assist. Perry, who plays a tough two-way game has six goals and five assists in fifteen games while the crafty Valcourt leads the team with ten goals and six assists. All three contribute to the Tigers’ success by adding to both the power play and penalty kills.
The eighth Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge will take place from November 19-21 at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens, home of the Trenton Golden Hawks of the OJHL. This is one of the premier Junior A hockey events in the country and will provide tremendous exposure for Walker, Perry and Valcourt plus the rest of the top prospects of the five eastern junior A leagues to play in front of scouts from all over the hockey world – including the NHL, NCAA, CHL and U Sports. Additionally, it also serves as a player identification event for the coaching staff for Team Canada East in player selection for the yearly training camp and subsequent entry into the World Junior A Challenge.
Congratulations Joel, Coleton and Pascal. We know you’ll make the most of this opportunity.
