Tigers Fare Well at 2019 Draft

The Tigers Draft team led by Head Coach and GM, Greg Leland and Assistant GM and Chief Scout, Kevin Mitchell were pleased with the results of last Saturday’s proceedings in Edmundston. When all was said and done, thirteen players were added to Tiger ranks, eleven through the draft process and two others, both defencemen, via trades.

Of the  players drafted, five were forwards including Riley Bezeau (’02 – Saint John Vitos), Alex Cormier (’03 – Moncton Flyers), Yanic Duplessis (’03 – Moncton Flyers), Griffen Peers (’03 – Dartmouth Subarus) and local athlete, Jake Parker (’03 – Northern Moose). Defencemen drafted include Hunter Benoit (’03 – Halifax Macs), Michael Sack (’03 – Cole Harbour Wolfpack), MacLaren Dick (’03 – Saint John Vitos), Aaron Lane (’03 – South Shore Mustangs), Liam Best (’01 – Tri-Pen Osprey) and Ewan Keays (’02 – South Shore Mustangs).

During the weekend, Campbellton also made moves to add more experience to their blue line. From Princeville, QC the Tigers obtained Olivier Bourassa (’01) for future considerations. The second pickup was a player whom Tiger fans got to watch last season when he helped the Yarmouth Mariners win the Canadian Tire Cup. In exchange for the rights to Nathan MacMillan and future considerations the Tigers will  have Zach Bennett (’00) helping to solidify their defense.

Now, for avid Tiger fans, the waiting begins but really, with training camp only about eleven weeks away the wait will go quickly.
